Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta Private Day Tour with Lunch
Two of the best days out of Saigon, and you can take one or both. North of the city, the Cu Chi tunnels run for miles under the fields — a whole underground world of kitchens, hospitals and sleeping quarters. We go to Ben Duoc, the far end of the system, where the tour buses do not reach. You go down yourself, and your guide explains how people lived in that dark for years. South is the opposite kind of day. You cross the river to the workshops: coconut candy pulled and cut by hand, honey tea, rice paper drying in the sun. A sampan takes you up a palm-shaded canal, and an electric cart runs you through the village, so there is very little walking. Between the two, a lacquer factory where artisans living with disabilities make lacquer paintings by hand — a craft settlers carried south three hundred years ago. CHOOSE YOUR DAY Cu Chi Tunnels only — half day, back by early afternoon Mekong Delta only — one full day south Cu Chi and Mekong — both, in one long day
