Edinburgh Storytelling Walk: Makars Court to St Giles Cathedral
Join us - sometimes with one of our Golden Retriever tour guides - for an exploration of the top of Edinburgh’s historic Royal Mile. We start in Makars’ Court with Scotland’s literary legends, then head to the Edinburgh Castle Esplanade for stories of sieges and battles, kings and queens, and mysteries. Descending Castlehill, hear tales of witches and wizards before taking in picturesque Victoria Street and the Grassmarket, where we’ll meet locals past and present. Next, we visit Greyfriars Bobby’s statue. We’ll separate fact from fiction, but we promise Bobby’s story will stay with you. From Greyfriars we cross George IV Bridge back toward the Royal Mile, meeting the economists, philosophers, and larger‑than‑life characters who shaped the city - and the details most people walk straight past. We finish at St Giles’ Cathedral, with tales of saints and sinners, power and punishment.
