North Osaka:Katsuo-ji Daruma Temple to Minoh Falls
Escape central Osaka and discover the quieter, greener side of Japan. Explore two of Minoh’s highlights: • Katsuo-ji Temple — a mountainside temple famous for thousands of red Daruma dolls and its tradition of good fortune and perseverance. • Minoh Waterfall — a scenic waterfall surrounded by forest and seasonal colors. But this tour goes beyond sightseeing. Along the way, I’ll share the stories behind the places we visit and how Shinto, Buddhism, mountain worship, and local traditions still connect with everyday life in Japan. This is a relaxed, conversation-based walk — not a formal lecture. There’s time to enjoy the scenery, take photos, ask questions, and experience the area. Having lived here for decades, I’ll also share local stories and perspectives you’re unlikely to find in a guidebook. We’ll also enjoy lunch at a locally loved restaurant most visitors would never discover on their own. Come for the temple and waterfall — leave with a deeper understanding of Japan.
