Kyoto/Osaka to Nara: Wild Deer & Great Buddha (Car Option)
Before Kyoto and Tokyo, there was Nara — Japan’s first permanent capital and home to some of the country’s oldest temples, traditions, and sacred sites. Travel from Kyoto or Osaka with your guide by either private car with hotel pickup or public transportation, depending on the option selected at booking. In Nara Park, meet the famous sacred deer that have been protected for centuries as messengers of the gods. Visit Todai-ji Temple to see the Great Buddha, one of the world’s largest bronze Buddha statues, and learn how Buddhism shaped ancient Japan. Walk through the lantern-lined paths of Kasuga Taisha Shrine and enjoy panoramic city views from Nigatsu-do Hall, known for its 1,270-year-old fire ceremony tradition. Perfect for travelers wanting to experience Japan’s spiritual and historical roots in one day. The itinerary is for reference only. As this is a private tour, the guide tailors the experience within the tour duration based on guests’ interests and requests.
