The Salkantay Trek is a 51 km (31.7 miles) journey, with daily hikes averaging 6 to 7 hours. This route is designed for travelers who enjoy physical challenges and want to experience a variety of microclimates, discover the mysteries of the Andean world, and take in the diverse landscapes that this trail offers on the way to Machu Picchu. Important: Machu Picchu tickets are subject to availability. Please note that the only entity authorized to sell these tickets is the Ministry of Culture of Peru.
