That story comes alive on this two-hour tour of the Eastern Gardens of the Imperial Palace, the former home of the Tokugawa shoguns, with a local Spanish-speaking guide. We go out and return to the Wadakura Fountain Park, passing through the Ote mon gate, the Ninomaru Garden, Bairinzaka the cherry hill, the old turret, and the East Garden paths with its carp ponds. One honest thing before booking: the real Imperial Palace is not open to the public. We visited the East Gardens, the closest permitted point, one of the quietest corners of central Tokyo. No dress code, tattoos welcome, small purpose-driven group, maximum ten people per guide, always with space for your questions.
