Gufran’s Slum Home Tour in the Mumbai Slums
Come and spend some time with Gufran in his home, located in the largest slum of South Mumbai. He will share stories about growing up here and tell you about Slum Care, a social initiative he runs. Meet his family and friends, share in the smiles and curiosity, and make this a memorable experience in your life. Hello! We’ll enjoy a nice hot cup of Indian tea after meeting at Regal Cinema, an iconic Art Deco theater in Colaba. Our next stop is Sassoon Docks—one of the oldest docks, built in 1875, and now one of the largest fish markets. Then, we’ll observe traditional laundry washing before heading to my home of 23 years in Ganesh murti Nagar slums, the largest slum in South Mumbai. Here, you'll meet wonderful and interesting people—my family and friends. This is also where Gregory Roberts, the author of the worldwide bestseller Shantaram, lived for a long time. I look forward to showing you an authentic slice of Mumbai life!
