Uncover the Secrets of Saqqara, Memphis, and Dahshur
Start your visit at Saqqara, the burial site of ancient Memphis. Begin with the Funerary Complex of King Djoser, the founder of the Third Dynasty during the Old Kingdom. Here, you will see the Step Pyramid, the first large stone building in history and a true wonder of ancient architecture. Next, explore the Tombs of the Nobles, which still have colorful wall paintings and clear hieroglyphic writings. These tombs show the daily life and beliefs of Egypt’s nobles. Move on to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Visit the Temple of Memphis to see the giant statue of Ramses II, one of Egypt’s most famous kings, and the Sphinx of Queen Hatshepsut, a unique statue of Egypt’s powerful queen. Finally, head to Dahshur to see two amazing pyramids built by King Sneferu, the founder of the Fourth Dynasty. The Red Pyramid is the third-largest pyramid in Egypt, while the Bent Pyramid still has its smooth outer stones, giving you a rare look at how pyramids were originally built.
