Kyoto 3 Hour Bike Tour in Heian Shrine and Kamo River
See Kyoto the way locals do: by bike. This small-group tour with an English-speaking local guide starts at the giant torii gate of Heian Shrine and takes you through quiet backstreets, along canals and the Kamo River. Choose the time that fits your day. Each departure follows its own route: Morning tour (10:15 start): Heian Shrine, Nanzen-ji Temple and its brick aqueduct, the Philosopher's Path, the Kyoto University clock tower, the Kamo River and the Shirakawa canal in Gion. Ends back at the starting point. Afternoon tour (14:30 start): Heian Shrine, the Kamo River, Nashinoki Shrine and its spring water, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine and Kamishichiken, Kyoto's oldest geisha district. Ends at Kyoto City Hall, close to Pontocho for dinner. Ride a Bianchi cross bike, or choose a Panasonic e-bike with pedal assist. The pace is relaxed, and your guide shares the history and everyday life behind each stop.
