
Pompeii and Herculaneum day trip from Naples
Depart Naples on board your coach to Pompeii which was buried under a blanket of ash from the eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. and was not unearthed until the 18th century. Upon entering the Pompeii Archaeological park, you will come across Roman ruins and learn the fascinating history of the ancient city. You will see the excavations of the Teatro Grande, which once held up to 5,000 spectators, and the Forum. You will see the coral workshops and cameo factory to learn more about the jewelry making process. Afterwards, we will reach the eighteenth-century restaurant "Vesuvio" for a delicious Italian lunch. Journey close to the coastal city of Herculaneum, home to the ruins of another city affected during the infamous eruption. Although Pompeii is better known, Herculaneum is home to a wealth of archaeological treasures.
