About
Behold, the magnificent Wellington Arch, an emblem of London's rich history and grandeur. Erected between 1825-27, this majestic monument was initially conceived as a grand entryway to Buckingham Palace. Eventually, it morphed into a victory arch, celebrating Wellington's triumphant defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The interior of Wellington Arch houses a series of temporary exhibitions, which invite you to delve into various aspects of British history, culture, and heritage. For those willing to climb the arch's steps, a reward awaits at the top in the form of stunning panoramic views of London's landmarks. Gaze upon Buckingham Palace, The Mall, and the lush greenery of Hyde Park from this elevated vantage point. And if you're lucky, you might just catch the Household Cavalry on horseback, marking their way to the Changing of the Guard Ceremony.
