Amsterdam Red Light District and City Center Walking Tour

About

Explore Amsterdam’s Red Light District at your own pace with a self-guided audio tour on your phone. Learn real stories and historical facts about one of the city’s most well-known neighborhoods. Start at Dam Square, where a dam on the Amstel River led to the founding of Amsterdam. As you walk, the audio guide will share key moments from the city’s history. See the Oude Kerk, Amsterdam’s oldest building, and the nearby statue “Belle,” which supports sex workers’ rights. You’ll walk through narrow streets and alleys once used by sailors, merchants, and locals. Along the way, you’ll pass places like Café In’t Aepjen, the hidden church Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder, and Bloedstraat. The tour ends at Nieuwmarkt, where you’ll see the Waag building, which has served many roles over the years.
